Have you ever wondered what your life will be like in 20 or so years?
Will I still know everyone I do now? Will my friends still be my friends? Will they still be doing the same old thing?
Something I fear is losing touch with people. I guess that explains why I can get a little crazy sometimes when I feel someone slipping away. I dunno, I look at my friends now and think there’s no possible way I could ever lose touch with these guys. But you never really know, do you? I mean, I thought the same way about my friend’s sophomore year. And now, let’s just say, I wouldn’t be surprised if I completely lost touch with all of my sophomore year friends. Yes, I’d be sad. But it wouldn’t be a surprise.
Do you ever wonder that, though? Do you ever think, what if, in 20 years, I’m walking down the street and I walk right by one these people and I don’t even recognize them? Could you imagine not even knowing your best friend? But, I guess, its high school. Best friends can change with the seasons.
I think, if I were able to see my future right now just to see how I was doing with all of my friends, it would break my heart.
Not to say that I won’t be happy in the future. I’m just not too sure it’ll be what I expect.
God, I hope it’s what I expect. You have no clue how much I want that. But, again, you never really know, do you?
